SPOT ME

Send a Spot

Fill in the call, frequency and park once, then pick where the spot goes. POTA spots are sent right from this page (a park number is required, and only one spot every 5 minutes). For the other sites, the spot is copied in their format and the site opens, so you just paste it and press submit.

1. The spot

These are the details every spotting site asks for. Frequency works in kHz (14062) or MHz (14.062). Fill in every number that applies: many Kentucky parks are POTA and WWFF (KFF) at the same time, and a Kentucky park number fills in its KFF number for you.

2. Where to send it

Nothing is picked to start. Tick the sites you want. Each one uses the matching number box above (POTA, WWFF or SOTA).

Good to know

Self-spotting is normal for POTA, SOTA and WWFF. On the general DX cluster (DX Summit, Holy Cluster, DXHeat) it's frowned on unless you're a special event station, so they're kept in their own Spot others box at the bottom of the list.

Spots you don't have to send: on CW and FT8 the Reverse Beacon Network and PSK Reporter hear you calling CQ and spot you automatically. If you post your activation on POTA's activation schedule ahead of time, POTA spots you from those automatic reports too. KPC members' POTA spots also show up on the club Discord and Facebook Page by themselves, so there's no need to post them there.

Weak cell signal? Use APSPOT (in the list above): get the text message ready at home and send it from the park.

No cell signal at all? Spot Me needs internet, so it can't help there. The free SOTAmat phone app can: it plays a short FT8 signal you transmit with your radio, stations that hear it pass it on through PSK Reporter, and SOTAmat posts your spot. Set up its account and your radio at home first.
